Dr. Kat Teruya

Dr. Kat Teruya is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, and is excited to join Getman Orthodontics with offices in Germantown and Arlington, TN. Dr. Kat has a deep passion for orthodontics and is thrilled to help her patients achieve their best smiles. When she’s not working, she enjoys staying active with yoga, pottery, and stand-up paddle boarding, and she’s a big fan of cheering on her favorite football team.

Beyond orthodontics, Dr. Kat has a rich history in community service. She was a professional dancer for the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders from 2020-2022, mentoring young dancers through the Junior Chiefs Cheerleaders program while supporting local charities like Harvesters and Cornerstones of Care. In 2017-2018, she held the title of Miss Hawaii for the Miss America Organization, where she launched the platform “BFF: Brush, Floss, Fluoride” to educate families about oral hygiene. She’s proud to have worked with Hawaii Dental Service and partnered with various organizations to promote better oral health.
